Nicholas Wendland Joins Drinker Biddle’s Investment Management Group

Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP has added Nicholas Wendland to its Investment Management Group as counsel. He resides in the firm’s Chicago office.

Mr. Wendland represents and advises financial institutions in navigating securities, commodities and exchange regulations. Drawing on his extensive experience with derivatives and proprietary trading, he assists clients in understanding and complying with securities and commodities laws, as well as regulations and rules set by self-regulatory organizations.

Mr. Wendland served as general counsel and chief compliance officer for Sun Holdings LLC, a group of companies with a global trading presence in equities, futures, fixed income, foreign exchange and swaps. Prior to this, he was a manager at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and a regulatory analyst at the New York Stock Exchange.

Mr. Wendland earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Chicago-Kent College of Law and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Saint Thomas.
