Ezekial (Zeke) Johnson has joined Faegre Baker Daniels as a partner in the firm’s corporate and finance and restructuring groups in Minneapolis.
Johnson counsels alternative investment management clients on fund organization and operation, regulatory and compliance matters, and product offerings. He advises global investment managers on the Investment Advisers Act, the Commodity Exchange Act, Regulation D and Dodd-Frank related compliance issues.
Prior to joining FaegreBD, Johnson was Chief Legal Officer at a large alternative asset manager, where he oversaw legal matters related to more than $7 billion in assets and managing an international team of attorneys. Prior to that position, he was a partner at Sidley Austin LLP in Chicago, where he also served as the U.K. liaison for that firm’s U.S. investment funds practice.
“Zeke has served clients on a truly global scale with a vast array of investment management matters,” said David Porteous, FaegreBD investment management practice lead. “As a former asset manager chief legal officer and AmLaw 100 attorney advising international clients, he adds a unique perspective to our team that we look forward to offering clients.”
Johnson received a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
