Faegre Baker Daniels Launches Diversity Fellowship Program for Law Students

Faegre Baker Daniels LLP has launched a Diversity & Inclusion Fellowship program in support of the firm's commitment to increasing diversity in the legal profession. The firm will offer four Fellowships annually to second-year law students.

Fellowship awardees will each receive a 10-week summer clerkship in one of the firm's U.S. offices between their second and third years of law school, during which they will participate in formal education, training programs and hands-on legal experience supervised by a licensed lawyer. Students selected for the Fellowship will each receive a $10,000 stipend at the conclusion of their summer associate positions.

Additionally, each recipient will be matched with a mentor lawyer at Faegre Baker Daniels, who will offer guidance to the student throughout the academic year and during his or her summer associate experience. Fellowship recipients are eligible to be considered for full-time employment as an associate with the firm upon graduation from law school.

Applicants for the Diversity Fellowship must be entering their second year of the J.D. program at an accredited U.S. law school and be interested in a summer associate position with the firm. Applicants must also submit a personal statement describing how or why they will contribute meaningfully to diversity and inclusion at Faegre Baker Daniels and/or in the legal profession.

Interested law students with an anticipated graduation date of 2014 should complete the online application for the 2013 Diversity Fellowship by August 19, 2012.

Faegre Baker Daniels was formed on Jan. 1, 2012, by a combination of Faegre & Benson LLP and Baker & Daniels LLP. The Fellowship program builds upon the legacy firms' diversity scholarship programs.
