Law360 Names Joe Price Among Most Admired Product Liability Lawyers

Faegre & Benson is pleased to announce that Joe Price, a partner in the firm's product liability practice and a founder of the firm's mass tort and pharmaceutical and medical device practices, has been selected by PL Law 360, as one of the 10 Most Admired Product Liability Lawyers in the United States. With more than 1,000 nominations received in seven practice areas of the law, ten product liability lawyers were selected for this national recognition.  

Price was noted by colleagues who were interviewed for his handling of sympathetic witnesses.  In a statement released by Law360, Price was recognized as being "among the best at tactfully questioning such witnesses while still making the best case for his client," and "the ultimate team player."

Mentored by Price, partner Peter Goss said Joe has been one of the main influences in his career. Among his mentor's greatest skills is finding a way of cross-examining witnesses without demeaning them.

 "He's fundamentally a very kind person," Goss said. "And people recognize that, and that in some ways gives him the ability to be very frank about decisions they made that maybe weren't quite the best decisions."

In 2010, the firm's product liability practice received recognition by Chambers USA as one of the leading product liability and mass tort practices in America. Joe Price was singled out by Chambers as one of the leading individuals nationwide in the areas of product liability and mass torts. Also in 2010, Joe was nominated as being in the top 10 pre-eminent product liability lawyers in the world by the Guide to the World's Leading Product Liability Lawyers, 3rd edition. This year he was also included in the International Who's Who of Product Liability Defense Lawyers, The International Who's Who of Business Lawyers (Product Liability Defense, 2011), and The International Who's Who of Life Sciences Lawyers. The 2011 edition of The Best Lawyers in America lists Joe in the practice areas of Mass Tort Litigation, Product Liability Litigation, and Personal Injury Litigation.

Joe is a 1972 graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School and has spent the past 38 years at Faegre & Benson defending pharmaceutical, medical device and other manufacturers in mass tort, toxic tort and complex litigation.
