DOJ Seeks to Block Payment Networks Acquisition of Competitor

The U.S. Department of Justice challenged a dominant payment network’s proposed $5 billion acquisition of a nascent financial technology competitor. Dylan Carson represented the DOJ in the challenge under the Sherman Act Section 1 and the Clayton Act Section 7 in the U.S. Northern District of California. The merger was abandoned.
