Psychiatrist Achieves Directed Verdict in Jury Trial Alleging Treatment Failure

Tom Joensen served as lead counsel in obtaining a directed verdict in medical malpractice trial involving a psychiatrist. The plaintiffs alleged the psychiatrist failed to properly medicate an admitted patient, who later eloped and injured another patient. The Court determined that the plaintiffs failed to show the connection between the doctor’s treatment with the claimed injuries and dismissed the lawsuit in the middle of the trial.
