Rockford Health System Defends Retaliation and Conspiracy Claims

Rockford Health System (RHS), a 3,000-employee health system, defended a lawsuit filed by a terminated physician and former RHS department chair alleging violations of the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and state law claims for retaliatory discharge and civil conspiracy. Our firm acted as lead counsel on behalf of RHS, obtaining summary judgment on the FMLA and conspiracy claims and dismissal of the state law retaliatory discharge claim. Armainsson v.
