Overview

Tareen Zafrullah counsels and represents employers in labor and employment law matters, concentrating on wage and hour issues arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and employee handbooks. In his counseling work, Tareen has analyzed over 600 positions for exempt/non-exempt classification under the FLSA and has reviewed more than 100 employee handbooks.
Tareen works on matters involving:
  • Form I-9 
  • Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
  • Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act
  • Older Workers Benefit Protection Act (OWBPA)
  • Restrictive covenants
  • Employee/independent contractor classification
  • State and local employment law compliance

Tareen represents employers before the Department of Labor (DOL), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Indiana Civil Rights Commission (ICRC) and litigates in federal and state court.
