Overview
With more than four decades of trial experience, David Stark represents clients in the legal profession, banking and financial services, natural resources, energy, high technology, telecommunications and health care industries during their most complex commercial disputes. When millions of dollars are at stake, clients trust him to resolve litigation.
Professional Responsibility
David has spent years advising law firms, lawyers and other clients in legal ethics and professional responsibility matters. He has successfully defended AmLaw 100 firms, international engineering firms and other clients in professional liability cases. A former partner at Faegre Baker Daniels, he served as professional responsibility counsel and claims counsel for the firm for several years.
Energy Litigation
For decades, David has represented oil and gas companies, utilities, hazardous waste facilities, energy industry executives and lenders in litigation relating to drilling operations, construction, operating agreements, contracts, radioactive waste and many other disputes. David litigates cases, handles appeals, serves as a mediator, represents clients in arbitrations and negotiates settlements in the best interests of energy clients.
Banking & Financial Services Litigation
David understands the needs of financial services companies during litigation, including class actions. He has represented major national banks, brokerage houses and title insurance companies in state and federal court. David guides clients through issues related to investments, loan repurchases, commodities fraud, consumer privacy, lender liability, breach of trust and fiduciary obligations, and securities fraud.
Technology Litigation
David works with software companies to protect their trade secrets and their businesses. He has defended innovative companies in distributorship disputes, securities fraud cases and product liability actions.
