Overview
Michael Schwartz partners with clients to advance business objectives related to intellectual property law. He has particular experience representing clients in intellectual property matters in the mechanical arts.
Michael has prepared and prosecuted a significant number of patent applications, including many directed to surgical techniques and orthopedic implants. He also has significant experience relating to fuel pumps, electric motors, transmissions and engines. Michael serves his clients by providing product clearance and patentability opinions, evaluating the validity of issued patents, and developing design alternatives to avoid potential patent infringement. He has led due diligence efforts relating to large transactions involving intellectual property assets and has conducted oral arguments before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences.
