Jamar Ray draws on years of experience as a mechanical engineer, a patent examiner with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), and as an intellectual property attorney at IBM to help clients protect their intellectual property assets on an international scale.
In-House IP Attorney
As an intellectual property attorney at IBM, Jamar prepared and prosecuted patent applications related to various types of technology, including data analysis, security and storage. He also partnered with key stakeholders involved in developing new technology, including collaborating with U.S. and international inventors on invention disclosures and patent applications.
U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
Jamar spent nearly six years as a patent examiner with the USPTO, where he examined patent applications in measuring and testing technology. During his tenure, Jamar received consistent recognition for performance, including outstanding quality in patent examination and outstanding docket management.
Engineering Experience
Prior to entering the legal profession, Jamar held multiple engineering positions, including serving as a mechanical engineer in the Naval Air Systems Command, a process engineer at a leading designer and developer of golf products, and a member of the technical staff at a multinational telecommunications equipment company.
Personal Interests
Jamar’s interests include tennis, martial arts, yoga and fitness.
