Overview
Andres Puerta represents employers in state and federal court in a broad range of labor and employment matters, including wage-and-hour, whistleblower, discrimination, harassment, and restrictive covenant matters. Andres advises clients with respect to internal policies, reductions in force and WARN Act compliance, paid leave, conducting investigations and due diligence, and employment matters related to COVID-19.
Before joining the firm, Andres was a law clerk to the Honorable Ellen L. Koblitz, J.A.D., New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division. While attending Rutgers Law School, Andres served as a student attorney in the Rutgers Community and Transactional Lawyering Clinic, where he met with aspiring entrepreneurs to assist them with legal incorporation status and filings, operating agreements and corporate bylaws, trademark searches, and commercial lease agreements. He was also senior editor for the Rutgers Race and the Law Review and a research fellow for Rutgers Center for Corporate Law and Governance, where he researched current legal issues impacting businesses with a special emphasis on developments in New Jersey corporate law.
Andres is fluent in Spanish.
