Ashley Pezzner

Senior Counsel

Overview

Knowledge of the esoteric language of science and technology makes for a strong patent counsel, and Ashley Pezzner brings the mind of a former engineer and patent examiner to his work helping clients around the world establish, protect and maintain technology patents. Ashley counsels chemical, agricultural, consumer product, pharmaceutical and medical device companies on patent prosecution and provides advice on patent infringement and validity issues in several areas of technology, such as polymers, pharmaceutical formulations and agricultural products.

Ashley also has deep experience prosecuting international patent portfolios for major clients in diverse industries, and he oversees due diligence projects during companies’ acquisition procedures. The patent applications he handles are in different polymer fields, organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), agricultural formulations, dye formulations, polyolefin films, catalysts, pharmaceutical applications, medical devices, photoresists, magnetic materials and oil recovery methods.

Prior to attending law school, Ashley banked a wealth of experience working as a procurement quality chemical engineer in the aircraft and naval industries. He also worked at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) as a patent examiner in Group 156 in the inorganic, organic and polymer fields.
