U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois

After completing law school, Drew served as a term law clerk for the Honorable LaShonda A. Hunt in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois. As a clerk, Drew gained substantive insight into various aspects of bankruptcy law while drafting opinions and memoranda on novel issues under Chapters 7, 11, 12 and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code. He was also able to engage with the newest bankruptcy regulations implemented by the SBRA (Subchapter V) and the CARES Act.

Prior Experience

During law school, Drew served as an extern at the Cook County Office of the Public Guardian, as an intern for the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights, and as a summer associate at Faegre Baker Daniels. Prior to entering law school, Drew worked for City Year, an AmeriCorps program where he supported educational programs in a middle school in Boston (including social and emotional coaching and individualized tutoring).

Personal Interests

Drew spends his free time practicing a variety of instruments and looking for tickets to plays and musicals. He was previously an active member of the Wigmore Follies, Northwestern’s annual student-written law musical. Drew also enjoys trying to predict the winners of the Academy Awards each year.
