Melissa Merk represents pharmaceutical and medical device companies in complex civil litigation, with an emphasis on product liability defense. She has significant trial experience, including conducting examinations at trial, preparing company and expert witnesses for trial testimony, and participating in more than a dozen jury trials involving pharmaceutical products in state courts across the country.

In this role, she has managed discovery issues; taken hundreds of depositions of opposing parties, physicians and experts; and coordinated and argued dispositive and pretrial motions.

Melissa served as judicial clerk to the Honorable Joseph H. Rodriguez, United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Personal Interests

Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband and their four children, sampling good food and wine, staying involved in her community, and reading or listening to great books. When time allows, she also enjoys traveling with her family to explore new destinations or return to their favorite “homes” away from home.
