Carla R. Martin

Carla Martin helps clients pave their way out of complex commercial legal disputes, with a particular focus on legal issues involving public and privately owned property and real estate assets. She represents Colorado clients involved in eminent domain, condemnation and government takings, land use issues, and real estate litigation.

Colorado Eminent Domain/Condemnation/Takings

Carla advises both condemnor and landowner clients in Colorado eminent domain matters. For condemnors, Carla has experience overseeing projects from the planning phase through litigation. For landowners, Carla helps owners to navigate all phases of the eminent domain or condemnation process — from the time landowners receive notice of the condemning authority’s intent to acquire all or part of their property through negotiations for just compensation. Carla understands that condemnations can be stressful and disruptive for property owners, and she works to secure the just compensation to which they are entitled — and to bring them peace of mind.

Land Use

Carla helps clients navigate developmental hurdles by negotiating with local government entities to achieve favorable project results. Her experience includes advising a developer to overcome a denial of administrative approval for a proposed site development plan and helping individual homeowners negotiate with local government authorities regarding zoning code and nuisance violations.

Real Estate Litigation

Carla has experience handling complex landlord-tenant issues, easement disputes, quiet title actions to recover or clear title to property, and many other disputes involving title or property rights.

Personal Interests

Carla enjoys trivia, cinema, and spending time with her husband and their Bernese Mountain Dogs.
