Overview

Jay Jaffe provides legal services and strategic counsel to clients facing financial distress. He advises financially distressed businesses and financial stakeholders on a variety of matters, including loan workout and restructuring, reorganization, transactions, litigation/creditor’s rights, and bankruptcy. Jay represents financial institutions, insurance companies, unsecured creditors, creditor committees, trustees, lessors, corporate debtors and individual debtors in large, non-consumer bankruptcies. In addition, he prosecutes and defends commercial contract litigation, foreclosure and replevin proceedings. Jay was a standing trustee for the United States Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Indiana, Indianapolis Division, from 1986 to 1988. Jay was inducted as a Fellow in the 28th class of the American College of Bankruptcy on March 10, 2017.
