Public Health Government Relations and Advocacy
Throughout her professional history, Laura has cultivated relationships with members of Congress, congressional staff and officials at government agencies, including the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and the White House.
Prior to joining the firm, Laura served as chief of government affairs for the National Association of City and County Health Officials (NACCHO) in Washington, D.C., where she led policy development and federal lobbying for the 2,800 city, county, metropolitan, district and tribal health departments that were NACCHO members. At NACCHO, Laura distinguished herself as a savvy coalition manager, lobbyist and authority on policy issues essential to population and public health services throughout the country. Laura also previously served as the director of government relations for the National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors and as a senior lobbyist for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
