Levi Giovanetto

Levi Giovanetto represents corporate clients facing government inquiries and conducting internal investigations. Levi has represented Fortune 500 companies facing allegations of securities fraud in high-profile criminal enforcement matters. He also has helped those same type of companies conduct internal investigations to find and correct mistakes before they became high-profile criminal enforcement matters. He also helps clients anticipate and prepare for federal enforcement trends that may impact their businesses. Levi tracks and analyzes enforcement and regulatory activity from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and other government agencies and ensures that his clients are apprised of developments that may affect them.

The best cases never become enforcement matters in the first place. For those that do, Levi has resolved more than a dozen SEC, Department of Justice (DOJ) and other enforcement matters with no enforcement action taken. Levi has also reached favorable settlements with the government in several cases. And when necessary, Levi has gone to trial against the government, reaching a complete dismissal at trial against the SEC in one case and convincing the DOJ to dismiss all felony counts in another trial after five weeks.

In addition to his white collar work, Levi maintains an active commercial litigation practice. Virtually every business must contend with at least the prospect of commercial litigation, whether as plaintiff or defendant. Matters range from routine contract disputes to complex cases that threaten a company’s viability. Complex litigation continues to become more time-consuming and expensive than ever before. Levi has handled matters at all stages of litigation from pleading through trial — with efficient and effective results. Levi also routinely handles mediations, arbitrations, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
