Janet prepares and negotiates contracts, reviews websites and advises on copyright and trademark protection, brand management and related matters for:
- Estates of artists and collectors
- Art organizations
- Filmmakers and producers
- Internet companies
She also provides counsel on entertainment law and internet law.
Mediation and Litigation Experience
Janet is a trained mediator and has negotiated numerous settlements in all areas of copyright and trademark law. Additionally, she has litigated intellectual property disputes before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
Janet maintains an active speaking schedule and regularly contributes to conferences on art law, copyright and trademarks.

An experienced professional editorial and fine art photographer, Janet’s work has been widely published, exhibited and acquired for the permanent collections of museums, including the National Portrait Gallery and the Oakland Museum of California. Janet is also a member of the Cosmos Club in Washington, D.C.
