Kelvin Dionel Collado

Associate

Overview

Kelvin Collado is a trial and appellate litigator who helps steer clients through upwells in the product liability space – from product counseling to complex litigation.

On the counseling front, Kelvin advises manufacturers, retailers and other companies on regulatory developments and their scope of impact on the product life cycle. He also works in tandem with business clients to evaluate and curtail risk in the context of product recalls.

In addition, Kelvin provides first-rate litigation support. His background as an assistant district attorney and litigator at a national trial law firm, as well as his work for the Minnesota Court of Appeals, inform his exacting approach to advocacy. He has experience navigating matters in federal and state court, and he is deeply committed to protecting clients’ stake in the marketplace.

Past Experience

Kelvin previously worked as a business litigation associate for a national trial law firm, where he worked with health insurers seeking to recoup money obtained through unlawful or fraudulent means. He:

  • Led document production efforts.
  • Wrote discovery and motions, both non-dispositive and dispositive.
  • Assisted in depositions.

He also worked on all aspects of appellate advocacy, writing appellate briefs for federal circuit courts of appeal and Minnesota appellate courts.

Prior to that, Kelvin clerked for the Hon. Peter M. Reyes, Jr., of the Minnesota Court of Appeals. He also served as an assistant district attorney for the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office, where he led investigations and prosecutions and performed evidentiary suppression hearings and trials.

During law school, Kelvin served as a legal affairs intern for Major League Baseball (MLB), focusing on trademark prosecution.
