Alexa, What Are the Legal Implications of Generative AI?
Indiana Lawyer
Intellectual property partner Stephanie Gumm authored an article for Indiana Lawyer that discusses the legal implications of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, which seem to be developing at a rapid pace and are quickly becoming integrated in workplaces.
Gumm explains that generative AI, a machine-learning subfield that uses algorithms to generate new data and replicate by reviewing third-party data, is expected to generate 10% of all data and 20% of all test data for consumer-facing applications by 2025.
Gumm provides an overview of both the copyright and trademark implications of AI, and she notes that companies should create policies that cover the use of generative AI tools by its employees.
