A Look Into the Developing Regulation of Employer AI

Labor and employment partner Gerald Hathaway and associate Marc-Joseph Gansah coauthored an article for Law360 titled “A Look Into The Developing Regulation of Employer AI,” which reviews employers’ current artificial intelligence (AI) use in hiring and provides an overview of legislators’ and employers’ efforts to create a transparent and trustworthy framework for using AI in hiring.

Hathaway and Gansah explain that employers’ use of AI is still in its early stages. The authors provide examples of how efforts to regulate AI use in employment settings are multiplying. They also share ways in which employers are providing principles for trustworthy AI in recruiting and hiring efforts.

Although employers' use of AI in employment settings is still limited, Hathaway and Gansah note that the efforts to regulate its use in the workplace will increase in the near future.
