Health care partner Isaac Willett and summer associate Virginia Speck coauthored an article for Indiana Lawyer titled, “Willett, Speck: Legislative, policy changes to telehealth post-COVID,” that discusses the changes to Indiana’s telehealth laws included in Indiana Senate Bill 3. The bill was signed into law on April 20, 2021.
The authors discuss privacy updates, the replacement of the term “telemedicine” with “telehealth,” updates related to Medicaid, and many other key changes that went into law in April. The article notes that none of the statutory updates provided by the enactment of Indiana Senate Bill 3 are tied to the Public Health Emergency timeline, which is important because all of the statutory updates will survive after the Public Health Emergency unless amended by the state legislature.
