Bob Stoll Discusses Section 101 Protocol in Law.com

Washington, D.C., partner and co-chair of the Intellectual Property Group Bob Stoll was quoted in a Law.com article titled “Skilled in the Art: Mission Impossible: Section 101 Protocol + No Patent Is Ever Safe in Trading Technologies Case.” The article discussed Senators Thom Tillis and Chris Coons’ effort to create a legislative compromise on the statutory definition of patent eligibility.

Bob praised Senators Tillis and Coons’ creation of an intellectual property subcommittee and said he would not be surprised if the subcommittee eventually explored other patent owner issues, including the on-sale bar, the standard for obtaining injunctive relief, and Senator Coons’ proposals for reforming Patent Trial and Appeal Board proceedings, in addition to Section 101 issues.
