Guidance as a Cultural Tool at the USPTO

Washington, D.C. partner Bob Stoll authored an article for IAM titled “Guidance as a Cultural Tool at the USPTO.” The article discusses the guidelines for handling patent subject matter eligibility issues under Title 35 of U.S. Code Section 101.

Stoll writes that while the guidelines issued by USPTO Director Andrei Iancu in January 2019 have been welcomed by many, the biggest impact comes from the message the guidance sends to patent examiners.
