Many tech companies have set up shop in Indiana in recent years, which has brought up attendance at Speedway, Indiana's annual Innovation Showcase from around 100 people at its conception in 2009, to more than 1,000 attendees expected this year. The event has fast become the chief venue for entrepreneurs to connect with investors.
Faegre Baker Daniels partner Isaac Willett is the president of the Venture Club of Indiana, which is co-sponsoring the Innovation Showcase. Willet sat down with Gerry Dick from Inside Indiana Business to discuss the event and the benefits to both innovators and investors. Willet also discussed the importance of Indiana revamping their laws surrounding crowdfunding, making it easier for entrepreneurs to raise capital to get their businesses up and running.
