Despite the Equal Pay Act being on the books for half a century, on average, women are still paid 20 percent less than their male colleagues. In an interview with Indiana Lawyer, Shaun Clifford of Faegre Baker Daniels talked about how FaegreBD, whose lawyer population is 37 percent female, is making strides to incorporate women-led groups within the firm to provide training and professional coaching to other women in the organization.
"We have our Women's Forum for Achievement," said Clifford. "It's where a committee of women come together to help other women develop their careers and learn skills for professional development. The steering committee has representatives from all of our offices across the country and helps connect women at Faegre Baker Daniels to outside training or networking opportunities or leadership opportunities in the community."
Faegre Baker Daniels was listed as one of the 50 Best Law Firms for Women in 2013 by Working Mother Magazine and Flex-Time Lawyers LLC.
