In an interview with Denver Business Journal, Lynn Kornfeld, partner at Faegre Baker Daniels specializing in environmental transactional and compliance matters, talked about environmental laws surrounding Brownfields in Colorado. She highlighted that recent changes made to environmental laws relating to contaminated properties have Colorado's Voluntary Cleanup Program more difficult to employ. "The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is in a pull-back stage on covenant law now," she said. Kornfeld added that many of her agricultural clients have recently faced increased scrutiny relating to the use of potential contaminants such as pesticides and bacteria, and their impact on air and water. "The agricultural industry hasn't been a huge focus of regulation, but now there's more focus on livestock at the federal and state levels." Kornfeld said.
