Trademark Law & Its Challenges in 2011

Dilution: Big Rights for Big Brands



Chicago partner Darren Cahr will speak at the Trademark Law and its Challenges in 2011 Symposium, to be held February 3, 2011, in Redmond, Wash.  The symposium is co-sponsored by the McCarthy Institute at the University of San Francisco School of Law and Microsoft Corporation and will be held at Microsoft’s Global Headquarters.

Darren, a member of the Intellectual Property Practice Group and co-chair of the firm's Advertising and Promotions practice, will be the moderator and a speaker on the panel, “Dilution: Big Rights for Big Brands.” The panel, which will include senior trademark counsel from Amazon.com and Starbucks, will discuss recent developments in trademark dilution law. 

The conference will also include keynote addresses by J. Thomas McCarthy, author of McCarthy on Trademarks and Unfair Competition; Horacio Gutierrez, Microsoft Corporation’s Corporate Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Intellectual Property & Licensing; and Justice Xiangjuan Kong, Chief Justice of the Chinese Supreme Court for Intellectual Property.
