The Growing and Evolving Impact of Information Governance on E-Discovery Best Practices

Washington, D.C. of counsel Jason R. Baron recently spoke at the LexisNexis/The Cowen Group Federal E-Discovery Think Tank interactive webinar on the topic, “The Growing and Evolving Impact of Information Governance on E-Discovery Best Practices.” The major theme of the webinar was the need for Executive Branch agencies to adopt information governance and collaborate with other government peers.

Jason specifically discussed President Obama’s 2011 Managing Government Records Memorandum and subsequent guidance issued by OMB and the Archivist of the U.S., the latter of which requires that after 2019 all permanently appraised records of government agencies be accessionable into the National Archives in digital or electronic form.

Jason was joined by John John M. Facciola, retired U.S. Magistrate Judge for the District of Columbia; Kenya Dixon, assistant director, division of litigation technology and analysis, at the Federal Trade Commission; and David Cowen, president and managing director of The Cowen Group.
