The Changing Face of U.S. Patent Law


John Marshall, of counsel to the Philadelphia office, will speak at a Pennsylvania Bar Institute seminar titled, “The Changing Face of U.S. Patent Law” on Monday, Feb. 25, in Pittsburgh and Tuesday, Feb. 26, in Philadelphia, Pa.

U.S. Patent Law is changing from a first-to-invent to a first-to-file system in March 2013. The speakers will discuss the Patent Office rules to implement first-to-file and client counseling and best practices for the new system. 

Mr. Marshall will also provide a summary and report on procedures effective in September 2012 under the America Invents Act, including challenges to issued patents at the new Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
