Patents in an Age of Software
Overview
Washington, D.C., partner Bob Stoll spoke at Patent Reform Program sponsored jointly by the George Washington University Law School and the University of Virginia School of Law. The program took place in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, March 20.
Bob, former Commissioner of Patents at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, participated in the afternoon roundtable discussion of “Patents in an Age of Software.” Other participants included the Honorable Theodore R. Essex, Administrative Law Judge and representatives from Google and Microsoft.
The panel discussed patenting software, the quality of such patents, statutory mechanisms, relationship between the Federal Circuit and the Supreme Court, and much more.
