Patent Term Extension Around the World: India, China & Korea


Philadelphia associate Debora Plehn-Dujowich, Vice-Chair of the AIPLA Biotechnology Committee, is coordinating a webinar titled, “Patent Term Extension around the World: India, China and Korea,” for the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) on Tuesday, November 18.

The panel will be composed of Tarun Gandhi of Chadha & Chadha, Li Feng of Finnegan, and Yoon Suk Shin of Lee International; Carla Mouta of Finnegan will act as the moderator.

Topics to be discussed are the following: how India has no provision for patent term extension (PTE); how the Chinese Patent Act does not currently provide any PTE to remedy delays caused by the regulatory approval process; and an in-depth analysis of Korean PTE practice and its recent developments and will examine topical issues, such as PTEs for combination drug products, and the scope of PTEs.
