Innovation and IP Judicial Protection

On October 20, 2015, DC partner and co-chair of the IP Group Bob Stoll moderated a panel on “Innovation and IP Judicial Protection” at the Federal Circuit Global Series in Shanghai, China. 

Panelists included:  Benjamin Bai, Allen and Overy; David Killough, Microsoft; Sandra Kuzmich, Frommer Lawrence and Haug; Xiaojin Zhang, Division Director of Beijing Intellectual Property Court; and, Yan Jiao, Vice Director of the IP Division of Xi’am Intermediate Court, Shanghai.

The panel discussed patent subject matter eligibility and judicial use of technical experts. Many judges from China and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, as well as companies and attorneys doing business in China, were in attendance.
