Ethics in Patent Prosecution

Washington, D.C., partner Mercedes Meyer will speak at the American Intellectual Property Law Association’s “Ethics in Patent Prosecution” conference on Friday, March 22, in Washington, D.C.

Mercedes will co-present the program with Professor David Hricik, with whom she co-authored a treatise on patent prosecution ethics, the second edition of which will be published later this year.

The presenters will discuss developing ethical issues under the American Invents Act (AIA), where problems will likely arise in the future, the proposed new PTO rules of ethics, as well as new theories of liability concerning the misuse of information.
