Overview

Jim Twaddell, government relations director in the Washington, D.C. office, recently spoke April 26 at the Volunteer Leaders Orientation Workshop (VLOW) for the American Nephrology Nurses' Association's (ANNA) National Symposium  in San Diego, California. The VLOW is an annual program designed to orient ANNA members in their volunteer roles for the organization.  Jim spoke to the group about health policy in Washington and how nurses can be advocates on Capitol Hill.  Jim serves as the federal health policy advisor to ANNA, where he works closely with the organization's leadership to ensure that nephrology nurses' interests are a part of the larger ongoing health care debate in Washington.
