Review of Legislation

Overview

Washington, D.C., senior government relations director Jodie Curtis presented a review of the 2010 federal legislative priorities for nurse practitioners at the American College of Nurse Practitioners’ Public Policy Institute.  The PPI is designed to provide participants with in-depth presentations on key legislative and regulatory issues facing health professionals.  Topics covered included the state of health care reform in Congress and what the budget reconciliation process means for health care.  Jodie also moderated a panel of congressional staff who spoke about their role in public policy making and discussed how nurses can be effective advocates.
