Jodie Curtis, Senior Government Relations Director, and Erin Will Morton, Senior Government Relations Manager, presented at the American Society for Tropical Medicine and Hygiene’s (ASTMH) annual meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, on Monday, November 12, 2012.
Jodie’s and Erin’s presented an advocacy session focused on global health funding and the potential impact of the recent elections. They also provided an update of advocacy activities and accomplishments. In addition to the presentations, Jodie and Erin organized an advocacy reception, during which ASTMH members and meeting attendees could network and also write messages to weigh in with their elected representatives.
ASTMH is a worldwide organization of scientists, clinicians, and program professionals whose mission is to promote global health through the prevention and control of infectious and other diseases that disproportionally afflict the global poor. ASTMH has been a client of the Lobbying and Advocacy Team since 2006.
