An Inside Look at the FTC’s Agenda: Privacy and Data Security Enforcement and Priorities

An Interface Series Webinar

Overview

This program is part of a monthly webinar series hosted by Faegre Drinker’s privacy, cybersecurity and data strategy (PCDS) team. Each session will open with a 360-degree overview of PCDS and IT news developments from around the world, followed by a deep dive on a significant legal issue impacting clients. Speakers include a who’s who of the industry, from Faegre Drinker attorneys to technology, operations and regulatory experts.

While most of us have been focused on the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other state legislative activities relating to privacy and data security, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has been busy bringing enforcement actions of its own.

In this Interface webinar, Katherine Armstrong of Faegre Drinker will review recent FTC enforcement actions and the key takeaways companies should internalize now. Then, Maneesha Mithal, associate director of the FTC Division of Privacy and Identity Protection, will join us to share the FTC's perspective, zeroing in on expectations for businesses and the agency’s future priorities.
