Operational and Regulatory Issues and Their Importance When Evaluating and Selecting a Manager
Overview
Chicago counsel Nicholas Wendland spoke at CTA Expo / Emerging Manager Forum in Chicago on September 12, 2019, about “Operational and Regulatory Issues and Their Importance When Evaluating and Selecting a Manager.”
Research shows that investment managers’ track records account for only about 18 to 20 percent of investors’ decisions to choose a manager. Other factors include due diligence, compliance, business plans and marketing; and many of these services are provided by third-parties. Nicholas discussed what managers and investors should consider when setting up their companies and what factors an investor should look at when reviewing a manager’s infrastructure.
CTA Expo is a forum for money raisers and asset allocators to find commodity trading advisors and emerging alternative managers, and to promote managed futures investing.
