Labor and Employment Matters
Overview
New York City partner Jerry Hathaway spoke at the 13th Annual American Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Conference held November 6−9, 2019, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Jerry’s panel, “Revisiting Creative Responses to Gender-Based Violence in the Workplace and in Global Supply Chains,” reviewed best practices for employers, trade unions and other stakeholders in identifying and eliminating gender-based violence throughout the global supply chains. The panel also reviewed U.S. and International legal frameworks, including worker protection and civil rights statutes and criminal penalties, as well as seizure and criminal remedies available under the recently amended Tariff Act that prohibits importation of goods produced in whole or in part with forced labor.
