Mike Zogby, Co-Chair of the Products Liability and Mass Tort Group and the Pharma and Life Sciences Group, presented “The Increased Focus on Detail Representative Discovery in Pharma and Medical Device Litigation” at the annual Trial Attorneys of America (TAA) Conference in Chicago on June 7, 2018.
The panel, which featured Stephen G.A. Myers of Irwin Fritchie in New Orleans and Sean Kennedy of Bristol-Meyers Squibb, included a lively discussion regarding the imposition of liability on pharma and medical device representatives, caselaw addressing duties to patients and physicians, discovery and document preservation issues, cost and proportionality issues, and preparation at deposition and trials.
The TAA is a national organization of trial counsel, founded in 1969, and is limited to 200 attorneys who devote a substantial portion of their practice to the defense of product liability litigation and to corporate counsel who work primarily in that area.
