Washington, D.C., partner Joe Rillotta spoke at the ABA Tax Section 2018 Midyear Meeting on February 10 in San Diego. The meeting brought leading tax practitioners together to discuss various issues, topics and legislation.
Joe participated in a panel titled “Inter-Agency Investigations with IRS-CI: Are Taxes Really the Driving Force in Your Case?” which focused on IRS-CI’s participation in inter-agency investigations encompassing both tax crimes and non-tax offenses such as money laundering, terrorism, corruption, and health care fraud. The panel also discussed the logistical and procedural nuances of representing clients in inter-agency investigations. Other panelists included Paula M. Junghans from Zuckerman Spaeder, Angela Clark from the IRS Criminal Investigation Division, and Brian Poe, a solo practitioner from Fort Worth.
