Incident Response: Planning for and Reacting to Potential Events

Overview

Chicago partner James Lundy discussed “Incident Response: Planning for and Reacting to Potential Events” at the IA Watch’s 5th Annual Cybersecurity for Financial Services Conference on October 6, 2017. He was joined by a Senior Managing Director from FTI Consulting.

The issue of cybersecurity continues to be a hot topic for financial services companies, particularly as the SEC increases its focus on data breaches and other cyber-related issues. A company’s communications to clients, counterparties, vendors – and regulators – in the light of such an incident can make a considerable difference in mitigating potential repercussions. Jim discussed these and other issues from the perspective of how to manage incident response in light of the strengthening interest of regulators (such as the SEC) on financial services companies’ cyber policies, procedures, processes, controls, and remedial efforts.
