Doxing, Swatting, Trolls, and SJWs: Harassment and Gender Discrimination on Social Media Platforms

Jennifer Criss, associate in the Washington, D.C., office, organized and spoke on a panel at the American Bar Association’s 31st Annual Intellectual Property Conference in Bethesda, Maryland, which took place April 6-8, 2016.

Jennifer’s panel, titled “Doxing, Swatting, Trolls, and SJWs:  Harassment and Gender Discrimination on Social Media Platforms,” covered issues ranging from revenge porn to Gamergate.

Jennifer discussed how social media platforms’ terms and conditions address online harassment issues, as well as the ethical considerations lawyers face when representing clients that are either organizations with an online presence or individuals that are users of social media.

Jennifer serves as Vice Chair of the ABA’s Committee on Copyright & Social Media, which sponsored the panel.
