Heili Kim Joins Faegre Baker Daniels as Partner in Washington, D.C.

Heili Kim has joined Faegre Baker Daniels in Washington, D.C., as a partner in the firm’s product liability and environmental practice group, focusing her priorities on product safety and compliance.

Ms. Kim blends knowledge from her role as regulatory counsel for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) with business pragmatism and international perspective to guide food, dietary supplement, cosmetic and medical device clients on regulatory issues and advertising. She seeks to understand each client’s risk tolerance, objectives and goals to provide client-focused advice that will help the company thrive.

As clients launch new food, supplement, cosmetic, medical device and agricultural products, Ms. Kim assists with product classification, counsels on feasibility for market entry and advises on best practices for obtaining FDA approval. With knowledge and perspective on the entire product life cycle, she provides valuable insight on compliance with requirements from the FDA, Department of Agriculture (USDA), and Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

“We are thrilled that Heili is adding her regulatory and business acumen to our team,” said Sarah Brew, partner and leader of the firm’s food litigation and regulatory practice. “Heili’s experience navigating FDA, FTC, and other regulatory and market challenges facing food, dietary supplement, medical device and related companies, both domestically and internationally, enhances our ability to provide practical and effective advice at a time when these clients are facing both greater opportunities and risks.”

In addition to her FDA regulatory knowledge, Ms. Kim also provides clients with specialized knowledge on marketing and advertising regulations for food and health care products.

Ms. Kim earned her J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law. She also holds an M.P.H. from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Riverside.
