Lisa Crum Brings Renewable Energy Utilities Experience to Faegre Baker Daniels

Faegre Baker Daniels has enhanced its presence advising the energy sector — particularly renewable energy stakeholders and regulated utilities — with the addition of new counsel Lisa Crum. Crum will practice in the firm’s Minneapolis office.

Crum joins the firm after over 15 years as assistant attorney general at the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office, where she routinely represented the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission and other state agencies on energy and environmental matters. She gained experience litigating complex cases involving energy regulatory disputes, oil pipeline permitting, state electric ratemaking, solar developments, contract disputes, environmental compliance matters, environmental review petitions and federal environmental laws. She leverages this experience to deliver energy law expertise to help innovators in renewable and alternative energy — as well as traditional regulated utilities — stay ahead of the curve. She also draws from expertise in solar, wind and other renewable projects to assist project developers, financing sources and tax equity investors.

Prior to her work in the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office, Crum was a partner at a Minneapolis law firm, where she advised traditional and renewable energy companies, building contractors and other clients on legal and policy issues. She also previously served as assistant attorney general in the Alaska Attorney General’s Office.

Crum earned her law degree, cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law, and a bachelor’s in international business and political science, from Saint Cloud State University.
