Washington, D.C., associate Jennifer Criss recently received an award for Recognition of Outstanding Leadership Contribution from the American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Intellectual Property Law. Jennifer was recognized on April 10, 2019, during the Section’s annual leadership dinner held in conjunction with the ABA’s Intellectual Property Law Conference, which takes place every April in the Washington, D.C. area. She was nominated for this award by the Copyright Division of the ABA.
Jennifer has been active in the ABA leadership for many years and currently serves as the Chair of the Committee on Copyright & Social Media. In this position, Jennifer plans and hosts programming for monthly calls and coordinates and develops CLE programming relating to the shifting landscape of copyright and social media. Jennifer previously served as Vice Chair of the Committee on Copyright & Social Media, chaired that committee’s Subcommittee on Fair Use, and was Vice Chair of the Committee on Copyright and New Technologies. In connection with her various positions, Jennifer has presented on topics ranging from fair use to online harassment.
Additionally, Jennifer has served as a member of the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Board of the ABA’s Section of Intellectual Property Law since 2016, for which she selects and develops copyright-related programming for the ABA’s annual Intellectual Property Law Conference.
