Joe Price Named ‘Icon’ Honoree by Finance & Commerce and Minnesota Lawyer

Joe Price, Faegre Baker Daniels senior counsel, has been named a 2018 ‘Icon’ honoree by Finance & Commerce and Minnesota Lawyer.

The awards recognize distinguished leaders in law and business, titans of the boardroom and courtroom, who are over the age of 60. During the evaluation of nominees, the publications examined career achievements, leadership, community involvement and mentorship.

Practicing law for 46 years and running, Price was recognized for his legal legacy by being at the forefront of some of the most high-profile, mass-tort medical, product-liability litigations nationwide. During his career, Price has successfully represented many national and international Fortune 100 pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers.

Finance & Commerce and Minnesota Lawyer also took note of Price’s early role in the implementation of the Daubert Standard—a measure requiring judges to assess whether an expert witness’ testimony is based on valid scientific methodology and whether that methodology can be appropriately applied to the case at hand. The Daubert Standard is further utilized to attack “junk science” and its attempts to unduly influence courtrooms.

Outside of his successful practice, Price continually advises younger lawyers, especially women and diverse lawyers, both inside and outside of FaegreBD. He also worked to promote the cause of Twin Cities Diversity in Practice, an organization committed to providing the tools and resources necessary, to assist member organizations in achieving their diversity goals.

Price and other honorees will be presented their Icon awards on December 6 at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis.
